10-11 Verity

Verity is Peter’s second child and born on August 17, 1977. She would be about three years old in this lovely photo.
She loved animals as a child, and that has continued into adulthood. Peter tells me the story about taking her to an exhibit of small animals at Marineland, and was amazed how Verity would get right into the enclosure and have all the animals feeding out of her hand.
Another great story is Verity and her dad going alone to Niagara for the weekend, and booking into a motel. Verity unpacked her things and her father’s things and put them all into drawers just like a little mother. She was 12 years of age at that time.
James and Verity met in Mississauga in September 2001 when Verity was going to college and working part-time in a local pub called the Lion and the Leprechaun. They moved back to Edmonton in December 2003, which was James' hometown. This photo was taken in Edmonton, where the locals love to wear their white Stetson hats.
They married in May, 2007 in Los Vegas, and that was a great family gathering that I will never forget. It was the Treasure Island Hotel and I actually won $20 on the hotel slots. Love the photo of the two together.
Their daughter Caroline was born in September 2009. She is Caroline Belle Leslie. Caroline was Verity's best friend, and Belle is the name of my mother.
James' mom died in 2014 and Verity and James moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2015 where the father had planned to retire. The photo of Verity with Caroline shows a young girl adapting to the culture of Mexico. Mother and daughter are having fun obviously.
It is joyful seeing Caroline growing up with Spanish speaking friends and being able to follow all the events of her young life on Facebook. She is now fluent in Spanish and studying French as well.
