When mother died and I inherited boxes and albums of old photos, I determined to find a way to preserve these memories. This story based series of family stories is my attempt to ensure family history is passed on to future generations. Bother Peter’s technology is making it all work.

Family Business 101

These stories are from the family business, John Bulloch Limited but include basic learning for any student of business or potential entrepreneur. All family business history is full of emotion. Success never comes easy.

Childhood Memories of War

Living through WW2 was dramatic for every child growing up during the period 1939 to 1945. These powerful memories show how everyone on the home front was involved in the war effort in some way. But these memories through the eyes of a young child are especially memorable.

Grands and Great Grands

So many wonderful photos of grandparents and great grandparents came into my possession after my mother’s death. So interesting to discover my body type is that of great grandfather Bulloch. Half of our grandparents died in their 60s and 70s and the other half all lived into their 90s. So this stuff matters. Your genetic package is such a roll of the dice.

Ireland 1947

Our grandparents in Ireland so wanted to see their grandchildren after WW2 which was Robert, Ian and myself. What an adventure crossing on the Queen Elizabeth after it was converted back from a troop ship to a cruise ship. And brother Robert stepping on to a troop train in the London train station when our backs were turned. That story went around the world.

Bros. and More Bros.

Some great baby photos of my brothers and some great memories of us growing up together. Great lessons for their children. Miss brother Ian who died in 2009.

Special Memories

We all have them, our wedding day and wonderful anniversary celebrations over the years. And how about those years at university, playing water polo and getting married. The things you do when you are young and a little crazy.

Around the World

Mary and I have had an extraordinary life, and out travels have taken us to over 40 nations, often linked to a senior role I played as one of the founders of the International Small Business Congress. Some of these photos are priceless.

Moms, Dads, and Kids

The plan here is to have a chapter on each of my parent’s grandchildren that records important moments in their lives. Something they will want their children to see when they become adults.

Remembering Dad

His story is one of personal courage and these special memories are important for all the family to study and learn from. His obituaries say it all.

Mother’s Writings

It is so interesting that so many of the family love to write and tell stories. Mother, if she had had the education, would have become an English teacher.
