Water from air sounds simple. The air is filtered, then condensed, and then the water filtered again. But there is a lot of proprietary technology that is ensuring the water produced is at a reasonable cost.
We are of course thinking of nations that are already water stressed that need this technology. And the original leader was Israel that is a global leader in the development of a range of technologies. Like desalination, water treatment, drip irrigation and water from air.
But in Alberta and British Columbia in Canada, there are areas in the north that depend on melting glaciers for their water supply. And at some point these glaciers will be gone along with all the water they supply. So it should be no surprise Canada is developing its own water from air technology.
And since we are talking about taking water vapor from the air, nations with high humidity are natural markets for this technology. So it is no surprise that India is another global leader.
Apparently, there is something like 2 billion people globally that do not have access to clean, safe drinking water. So many people that draw water from streams, rivers and lakes have to boil the water.
The photo shows a water from air devise that it is used by locals in Africa as a source of fresh drinking water. Of course, this kind of device needs a source of electrical power.
Research institutions everywhere are working on water from air technology powered by solar. This is the big need for so many areas of the developing world that lacks a power grid.
Regardless of the cost of water from air, it is always going to be cheaper than bottled water. And if you need drinking water, you are not really worried about the cost.

If 2 billion people today do not have access to clean, safe drinking water, assume we will face an even greater crisis as the planet warms. Water from air technologies are exploding powered by electricity. But solar driven technologies are on the horizon.
