John Mason, or JB, was born on March 20, 1985, the child of Peter and Polly. And will you ever see a cuter photo than JB as a newborn leaning on his father's shoulders.
It was so sad that my father, who died in 1980, never knew JB, who was his namesake (another "John" Bulloch in the family was confusing so everyone calls him JB).
Young JB was lucky because he had an older brother and sister that doted on him. Love the photo of Michael and JB on their little motor scooter.
Young JB was a good student and very coordinated, something you just inherit. And it seemed his mother and her four brothers were all well-coordinated and good in sports. We were all surprised at how good he was as a pitcher when he was young. Scouts were watching him in his early teens. His love for baseball has continued into his adult life.
When he hit his teen years, he took up golf, and had the swing of a professional. I played with him a few times and he seemed to be a natural. I was the opposite. The more I played the worse I got.
By age 19, he became passionate about poker, and started playing seriously, making enough money to pay his way through University.
He had a wonderful trip with Peter out west and visited with his Uncle Ian to places like San Francisco and Carmel. The photo is shot with the Pacific Ocean in the background.
JB graduated from U of T with an honours degree in Finance and also studied for and successfully recived his Certified Financial Analyst designation which will help him tremendously in his career in Finance. Now he is working in the banking industry and enjoying life with his partner, Tu Tran, who has become a member of the family. The photo shows the two of them on a holiday trip together.
Mary is always looking carefully at JB because she sees a lot of my genes in him. We both have a similar way of putting our head to one side when we are talking. I also have photos of myself at his age, and there is a real similarity. Tough luck, JB.
